Mamata demands Rajya Sabha LoP post from Congress for 'merger'; Ghar wapsi on cards?
The West Bengal government on June 10 issued a notification announcing a fresh allocation of business among ministers under the West Bengal Rules of Business. The notification, issued by the Home and Hill Affairs Department, supersedes an earlier notification dated May 13, 2026. Under the revised arrangement, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari will continue to hold charge of several key departments, including Home and Hill Affairs, Land and Land Reforms and Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation, Power, Information and Cultural Affairs, and Personnel and Administrative Reforms, in addition to departments not specifically allotted to other ministers.
The notification details the distribution of portfolios among Cabinet Ministers, Ministers of State (Independent Charge), and Ministers of State. Major departments including Finance, Health and Family Welfare, Industry, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, School Education, Agriculture, Tourism, Panchayats and Rural Development, Forests, Environment, Labour, Transport, Higher Education, and Information Technology have been assigned to various members of the Council of Ministers. The order was issued under Article 166(3) of the Constitution of India and signed by Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Agarwal.
