A 29-year-old man identified as Prabhat alias Shubham Singh died in a road accident on the Indore–Kshipra Highway on Thursday night after a passenger bus allegedly struck a car he was attempting to enter. Reports claimed that the deceased was a close relative of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, although police have not officially confirmed any such relationship.
According to police, the accident occurred at around 10:15 pm near the Kshipra Bypass. Prabhat Singh, a resident of Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh, was travelling towards Indore with three companions in a car. The group stopped their vehicle near the highway after he stepped out briefly.
Police said that after returning to the vehicle, Prabhat opened the rear door and was getting into the car when a speeding mini passenger bus approaching from behind collided with the vehicle. The impact of the collision and the force generated by the crash caused severe injuries to him.
Prabhat died at the scene of the accident. After receiving information about the incident, police personnel reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The body was subsequently sent to a hospital for post-mortem examination.
Sources stated that several senior political figures from Indore arrived in Kshipra late at night after learning about the incident and later visited the hospital where the body had been taken. The post-mortem examination was underway, and police continued their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
