In view of the WBCS (Executive) Preliminary Examination 2024 scheduled to be held on June 14, the Kharagpur Division of South Eastern Railway has announced special train services to facilitate the movement of examinees and regular passengers. Several EMU and MEMU local trains that usually remain cancelled on Sundays will be operated under a special arrangement for the examination day.
According to railway authorities, multiple up EMU services will run on key suburban routes including Howrah–Amta, Howrah–Mecheda, Howrah–Panskura, and Howrah–Kharagpur. The additional services have been planned to accommodate increased passenger demand and ensure convenient travel for candidates appearing for the examination.
The railway administration has also arranged down services on routes such as Kharagpur–Howrah, Panskura–Howrah, Uluberia–Howrah, and Amta–Howrah. The special train operations have been introduced to provide smoother connectivity across the division and assist both examination candidates and daily commuters travelling on the day of the test.
