Suvendu government signs police training pact with Rashtriya Raksha University

The state government on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the state police and Rashtriya Raksha University at Nabanna as part of an initiative aimed at strengthening police training and enhancing operational capabilities. The agreement is expected to provide specialized training for police personnel in emerging areas of law enforcement and security. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari attended the signing ceremony and outlined plans to improve professional skills and modernize the police force.

According to officials, Rashtriya Raksha University had proposed signing an MoU with the state police in November 2025. The agreement was subsequently finalized after the change in government. The initiative is intended to provide structured training opportunities and facilitate skill development across different ranks of the police force. Several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Assam, and Uttarakhand, have already entered into similar agreements with the university.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said efforts would be made to improve operational efficiency, strengthen institutional capabilities, and reduce dependency through modernization measures. He also stated that recruitment initiatives were being planned to address staff shortages and that transparency would be maintained during the hiring process. Officials said IPS and WPS officers, along with Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors, would participate in training programmes covering cybercrime, the dark web, artificial intelligence, forensic science, border intelligence, and the prevention of human trafficking. Students will also be eligible to participate in selected training initiatives under the programme.
