Massive chaos and violent protests erupted at Bora Ziakur Purnachandra High School in the Shantipur area of Nadia district on Friday after allegations of persistent indecent behavior by a school teacher surfaced. Outraged parents and local residents stormed the school premises, eventually breaching the staff room to assault the accused teacher, identified as Ashish Biswas. The angry mob subjected the teacher to physical violence, pelted him with eggs, and carried out widespread vandalism across the institutional campus, severely disrupting the school environment and causing an immediate breakdown of local law and order.
According to complaining parents, Biswas had allegedly been targeting female students for a prolonged period by engaging in inappropriate physical touch and forcing them to take selfies with him. Furthermore, the local guardians alleged that the teacher actively used his academic authority to silence the victims, threatening to drastically reduce their essential project marks if they exposed his actions to their families or external authorities. The underlying resentment boiled over after a student's scholarship form was rejected on Thursday, leading the victim's family to submit a formal written complaint to the headmaster and prompting a massive accumulation of protestors outside the gates on Friday morning.
As the physical confrontation escalated, a large contingent from the Shantipur Police Station alongside central force jawans rushed to the venue to restore order and establish a security cordon. The responding law enforcement personnel managed to pull the injured teacher away from the aggressive crowd, which was chanting provocative slogans, and subsequently transported him to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. While the school's headmaster, Apurba Banik, confirmed receiving a written complaint and promised institutional action, Biswas has denied all allegations, claiming the dispute arose purely because the student's scholarship documentation was incomplete.
