Barun Biswas' family seeks fresh investigation during CM's Janata Darbar

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari met members of the public individually during the Janata Darbar programme and heard grievances related to administrative, social, and development issues. During the interactions, the Chief Minister issued immediate directions to officials present through phone calls or written instructions to facilitate on-the-spot resolution of complaints. Media personnel were requested to leave the room temporarily to allow citizens to discuss personal and sensitive issues without hesitation.

Several people raised concerns regarding harassment by local syndicates, financial fraud, and security-related matters during the grievance redressal programme. A woman who attended the session, a nurse by profession, said the Chief Minister listened carefully to their concerns and assured them of immediate action.

Fourteen years after the killing of teacher Barun Biswas, his elder brother Asit Biswas and sister Pramila Rai Biswas attended the Janata Darbar on Saturday seeking a fresh investigation into the case. Barun Biswas was shot dead in broad daylight on July 5, 2012, after protesting against anti-social elements near Gobardanga station. His family requested a fresh probe and sought justice in the case.
