'Police will hurt youth again': Abhijeet Dipke says CJP will not attempt another Parliament march

Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Monday said the party would not attempt another march to Parliament, alleging that young protesters would again be injured by police action. He claimed Delhi Police used excessive force during Monday's protest in the national capital and alleged that student protesters were assaulted while the crowd was being dispersed. Dipke also alleged that a 12-year-old girl and other protesters sustained injuries during the police action and said a girl was in critical condition at RML Hospital after allegedly being struck on the neck with a baton.

Dipke alleged that the protesters had been demonstrating peacefully for a month and claimed the confrontation began with police action. He said authorities could have used water cannons instead of baton charges to stop the march and alleged that the subsequent police action led to a stampede. He further alleged that police personnel assaulted protesters after removing their name tags and claimed some people in plain clothes were given batons and dressed in police uniforms.

Dipke also questioned the presence of trucks carrying stones near the protest site and alleged that the incident had been planned in advance. He claimed that security arrangements around the protest site were stringent and called on Delhi Police to explain how the stones reached the area. He said the protest would continue, but the CJP would not organise another march to Parliament.
