Abhishek slaps 10-crore defamation notice on Madan Mitra over 'murderer' jibe
Ritabrata Banerjee on Tuesday announced that the families of the July 21 martyrs would receive ₹10,000 every month if his faction secured control of the party symbol and fund. Speaking at the July 21 programme organised by the Trinamool rebel camp near the Gandhi statue on Mayo Road, Ritabrata Banerjee made the announcement while addressing supporters during the Martyrs' Day observance.
During his speech, Ritabrata Banerjee criticised Mamata Banerjee and accused her of changing the nature of the annual July 21 programme. He said the platform dedicated to remembering the martyrs was not meant to be "a reality show" or "a place for a catwalk." He further stated that the programme had been conducted in that manner until now but claimed it would not continue in the future.
The announcement was made from the rebel camp's July 21 stage as rival factions held separate Martyrs' Day programmes. Ritabrata Banerjee's address focused on financial assistance for the martyrs' families and his criticism of the leadership of Mamata Banerjee.
