Kalyan spotted speaking with Samik at Parliament; Mahua joins in too
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a summons to former Rajya Sabha MP and Trinamool Congress treasurer Subhasish Chakraborty in connection with an ongoing investigation into the party's financial accounts. Chakraborty has been directed to appear before the agency later this week along with all relevant financial documents and account ledgers.
According to ED sources, the summons was issued because Chakraborty serves as the official signing authority for the party's three main bank accounts. The action comes amid an ongoing legal dispute in the Calcutta High Court concerning the party's symbol and accounts following internal divisions within the organization.
The investigation pertains to alleged financial irregularities amounting to ₹164 crore that were uncovered during the legal proceedings. The central agency is probing the transaction history and handling of these accounts to investigate the alleged misuse of funds.
