Under the Commonwealth Games boxing regulations, both losing semifinalists are awarded bronze medals, ensuring Borgohain a podium finish before stepping into the ring.

Borgohain is scheduled to begin her competitive campaign on July 31 against Tarona Taafaki, with a spot in the gold medal match at stake.
