PM Modi announces high-power Task Force for exam reforms under Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the formation of a high-power Task Force chaired by Infosys co-founder and former UIDAI chairman Nandan Nilekani to recommend comprehensive reforms in the country's public examination system. The high-level committee has been tasked with evaluating current testing frameworks, identifying structural vulnerabilities, and proposing robust technological solutions to ensure transparency and integrity in national competitive examinations.

The decision comes in the wake of widespread concerns regarding examination security, paper leak allegations, and administrative inefficiencies in large-scale entrance tests. The Task Force will focus on leveraging modern technology, secure digital infrastructure, and streamlined operational protocols to prevent malpractices. It is expected to consult educationists, technology experts, and key stakeholders before submitting its actionable blueprint to the Union Government.

Under Nandan Nilekani's leadership, the panel will also review the organizational structure and functioning of testing agencies to establish standardized protocols across the country. Government sources emphasized that the primary objective of this initiative is to restore candidate trust, safeguard student interests, and create a resilient, tamper-proof examination ecosystem for future competitive assessments.
