Foreign delegates get taste of royalty as they arrive in Agra for G20 summit

Foreign delegates get taste of royalty as they arrive in Agra for G20 summit

After nearly a month of development work on a war footing, Agra was ready to welcome the G20 guests on Friday evening. So when the guests' flight touched down at the Agra airport around 5:00 pm, they received a royal welcome.

Guests were welcomed with Braj dancing, shehnai playing and a shower of flowers from a drone. They were taken out of the airport in cars and group dances took place in various places introducing the guests to the country's culture. The guests were brought in royal style from the airport to Shilpgram. Rose and marigold flowers showered school children at 14 intersections. All the children also had the flags of twenty countries in their hands. Rangoli was decorated at all intersections and peacock dances were also performed.

Leading philanthropist and social activist Uma Shankar Sharma told that our country has to host the G20 for the first time and in such a situation, the eyes of the world are on India. A conference on the empowerment of women will be held on February 11-12. Union Minister Smriti Irani and Dr. Moonjpara Mahendra Bhai is also likely to arrive in Agra on February 11. The conference will be chaired by Dr. Sangita Reddy, Chairperson, FICCI. 

A musical program was arranged for the guests at the Diwan-e-Khas in Agra's Red Fort, sanctioned by the ASI headquarters. ASI sought permission to showcase the history of Agra Fort through 3D projection mapping of the fort, which was also approved.

On February 11-12, morning yoga camps were organized for the guests, followed by conferences. On February 11, from 18:00, a tour of the Agra Fort, a light and sound show and a cultural program are prepared for guests, and on February 12, after the climax of the conference, guests will visit the Taj Mahal. All guests will depart on February 13th.

During this summit, women's empowerment and women-led development will be discussed, as well as women's empowerment in the age of digitalization. Gender equality, women's leadership, entrepreneurship and economic development will also be discussed, as well as arts, culture and creating a better world.
