Train movement on the Prayagraj railway line was disrupted after two freight trains collided head-on in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday morning.
The accident happened around 5:30 a.m, reportedly due to the arrival of two freight trains on the same track. The pilot of the freight train was injured in the accident.
The collision of two freight trains led to the derailment of the wagons. However, no casualties were reported in the accident. Clean-up work is underway at the site.
TRAIN MOVEMENT AFFECTED
Train movement on the Lucknow-Varanasi route has been suspended. Several trains were canceled, while others were diverted after carriages of goods trains derailed following a collision at Sultanpur.
