Jharkhand HC extends 'no coercive steps' order in Rahul Gandhi case

The Jharkhand High Court today extended the "no coercive action" order against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to a further order in a case involving Gandhi's defamatory remarks against Amit Shah at a Congress party meeting in 2018.

Gandhi said no murderer can become a citizen President in Congress. Congressmen cannot accept a murderer as national president, and that is possible only in BJP.

BJP worker Naveen Jha filed a complaint in the Ranchi Civil Court in this matter. The court took note and sent a notice to Gandhi. Gandhi filed a petition in the Supreme Court to quash the notification.

The Supreme Court, which ordered that no enforcement action be taken, asked Jha and Gandhi to file written arguments on the matter and adjourned the hearing to 17 March.
