On Monday morning, the Exide Permanent Mazdoor Morcha Sangh opened a union office in Atpur, Jagaddal, which was soon followed by allegations that the office was in fact an illegally occupied doctor's clinic.
Consequently, tensions escalated, leading to the arrest of four supporters of Mazdoor Morcha, including MP Arjun Singh's brother, Sanjay Singh, who is also the organization's executive president.
Sanjay Singh, the working president of Mazdoor Morcha, was taken into custody for questioning on Thursday night, and three more individuals were also detained before they were subsequently arrested late at night.
The arrest led to protests by workers supported by the Labor Front, who blocked the Ghoshpada road in front of the Jagaddal police station, demanding the immediate release of Sanjay Singh. The demonstration was later resolved with the intervention of MP Arjun Singh.
The tensions surrounding the opening of the union office stem from allegations of illegal occupation of someone else's property. This has led to protests and subsequent arrests of labor leaders, causing further unrest in the area. The situation remains tense, with protests continuing despite efforts to resolve the issue.
