Road safety in Ranchi has come under fire after two died in a road accident near Anjuman Plaza under Lower Bazar Police Station area on Friday-Saturday night.
The accident happened when a speeder (Hyundai Creta) collided with a scooter. The scooter split into two parts. Two people sitting on it died, one was seriously injured. The car was heading towards Albert Ekka Chowk from Ratan Talkies Chowk when the incident took place.
The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Shamshad and Mohammad Zaid. The injured person has been identified as Zikra Parveen. They all belonged to the same family. They were returning to their residence after attending a wedding ceremony at the Anjuman Plaza banquet hall.
Dolni Bazar police station officer Sanjay Kumar confirmed the incident, saying that the car has been impounded.
"The circumstances under which the accident occurred are being investigated," he said.
