A seven-month-old girl from the Banjara community suffered severe burns when a man kicked a pot against hot water stove.
The incident took place late on Friday night at Nayatand village in Barkagaon block. Police are now looking for the man behind the incident. The girl is now being treated at Sheikh Bikhari Medical College and Hospital.
Sunita, the girl's mother, said she was boiling water on the stove to cook rice. Suddenly, a man from the same village came there and started arguing with her. He started hitting her, which led to an ugly situation. Before she could understand anything, he kicked the stove and the pot of hot water fell down. When Sunita's daughter was nearby, water fell on her and caused burns. The man fled the scene.
Sunita said the man tried to kill her daughter. “My daughter has suffered serious injuries, and therefore I want the culprit to be dealt with severely,” she added.
Barakagaon police said they have sent the girl for treatment and are now looking for the man who committed the crime. "We will arrest him soon," he added.
