In a shocking turn of events, the very place built to protect and shelter cows is now the reason for their death. The animal shelter Gaushala located in Maholi Tehsil area in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, is facing severe criticism for the poor condition of its facilities that have resulted in cows not receiving adequate food and ultimately losing their lives.
It is ironic that Uttar Pradesh, one of the most active states for cow protection and 'gau seva,' is witnessing the death of cows due to neglect and apathy. The situation in most Gaushalas in Maholi Tehsil is reportedly appalling, and cows are dying of hunger.
Recently, a cow died due to starvation in the Maholi block area's Basara gram sabha. The distressing news has exposed the administration's inefficiency and callousness towards the welfare of cows. The irony lies in the fact that while the state government claims to be committed to protecting cows, the reality is a far cry from their promises.
Several cows are still stuck in the drain near the Gaushala, highlighting the poor condition of the facility. The situation has attracted the attention of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Maholi, Anubhav Kumar Yadav, who has assured the public that action is being taken.
The District Magistrate, Anuj Singh, has also given instructions to the officials of Maholi to address the issue immediately. However, the question remains: How did the situation get so dire in the first place? How did a place built to protect cows end up being a death trap for them?
