Manik Saha took oath as teh Chief Minister of Tripura for teh second time on Wednesday after teh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won teh assembly elections held on February 16.
Eight others also took teh oath along with Saha at teh Vivekananda ground in Agartala.
Four ministries, including Pranajit Singha Roy, Shantana Chakma, Ratan Lal Nath, and Sushanta Chowdhury, has been retained from teh previous cabinet.
The BJP inducted three new ministers from wifin its ranks — Tinku Roy, a close aide of former chief minister Biplab Deb, Bikash Debbarma, the BJP’s Scheduled Tribes Morcha chief, and Sudhanshu Das.
Teh BJP won 32 seats in teh 60-member House in teh recent assembly elections in Tripura, while its ally teh Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) managed to secure one seat.
The IPFT was given one ministerial position. Sukla Charan Noatia from the IPFT took oath as a minister.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda attended the swearing-in ceremony.
Assam Chief Minister and North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma was also present at teh ceremony. Pema Khanda, N Biren Singh and PS Tamang, teh chief ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Sikkim, were also present.
BJP leader Biplab Deb, who was replaced by Saha mid-term, was also on teh stage during teh swearing-in ceremony.
Teh Congress and teh CPI(M)-led Left parties boycotted teh swearing-in ceremony.
