The Bharatiya Kisan Union will hold a Mahapanchayat on Friday to mobilize people to join the planned Sanyukt Kisan Morcha march in Delhi on March 20.
Farmers from different districts of Meerut division will participate in the Mahapanchayat which will be held outside the Divisional Commissioner's office. BKU president Rakesh Tikait will address the rally and appeal people to reach Delhi in large numbers on March 20 to ensure the success of the movement.
BKU Meerut Division Vice President Ravindra Dauraliya said members and leaders of various trade unions along with farmers' organizations would stage a protest in Delhi against the government's empty promises on SMEs, withdrawal of cases registered against farmers during the 13-month-long unrest and many other issues.
Dauraliya said union leaders and workers were holding meetings in villages to ensure maximum participation in the Mahapanchayat.
