The proceedings of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 2 pm on Monday amid the ruckus scenes over Rahul Gandhi's "democracy in India" remarks as Defense Minister Rajnath Singh demanded an apology from the Congress leader.

On March 6, Rahul Gandhi told British MPs in London that working microphones in the Lok Sabha are often silenced against the opposition. He stated this during an event organized by India's opposition Labor Party veteran Virendra Sharma at the Grand Committee Hall in the House of Commons complex.

Rahul Gandhi, who is a member of this House, insulted India in London. I demand that his statements be condemned by all members of this House and that he be asked to apologize before the House,” Singh said in the Lok Sabha.
