Actor Salman Khan received a warning from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi for his blackbuck poaching case in 1998. Bishnoi, who is currently in jail, said in an interview that the actor must apologize to the Bishnoi community for his involvement in the Blackbuck case. He further added that if he does not do so, he will have to bear the consequences.
Bishnoi said his community was angry with the actor for "humiliating" them. He added: “He has been charged but has not apologised. If they don't apologize, be prepared to suffer the consequences. I will not depend on anyone else.”
He also urged the actor to apologize to the Bishnoi community in front of the Jambeshwarji temple. He promised to back down if the community forgave the star. Bishnoi said, “He should come to the temple of our deity and apologise. If our society forgives, then I won't say anything.”
Khan shot a blackbuck while shooting for his 1998 film Hum Saath Saath Hain. The Bishnoi community filed a case and the actor was sentenced to five years in prison by a Jodhpur court. However, he was granted bail.
Bishnoi is behind bars after he confessed his involvement in the murder of Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala. Last month, Khan received a threatening letter said to have been sent by Bishnoi, but the gangster denied that the Mumbai police had questioned him and he had not sent the threatening letter.
