On Thursday midnight, a lightning strike caused a fire that destroyed both an earthen house and a cattle shed in the 9 number Gheri area of South Raipur, located in Patharpratima of South 24 Parganas district. Unfortunately, the fire claimed the lives of many cattle and all the household items kept inside the house.
Jagbandhu Haldar's kutcha house was hit by lightning, causing smoke to engulf the area and eventually ignite the house. Although the people inside managed to escape with their lives, they were unable to rescue their pets and belongings.
The locals rushed to the scene and tried to extinguish the fire, but their efforts were in vain. The fire burned for several hours, and it was not until Friday morning that the flames were finally put out.
Tragically, the fire claimed the lives of three cows, several goats, ducks, and chickens. The incident caused panic among the local people and left Jagbandhu Haldar and his family homeless.
