The Special Task Force (STF) of West Bengal Police, in a joint operation with Bihar Police, has busted an illegal arms factory in the Ahmedabad police station area on the border of Malda in West Bengal and Katihar in Bihar.
Bengal Police STF SP IPS Indrajit Basu gave information about this on Saturday morning. He told that STF of West Bengal Police had received concrete information from informers that an illegal gun-making business was going on in the house of a person named Naru Karmakar between Ratua police station area under Malda district of West Bengal and Ahmedabad police station area in Katihar, Bihar.
After this, the team of Katihar Police and STF jointly raided on Friday evening. Though the owner of the house fled from the spot, two improvised guns, a semi-made barrel, a semi-made gun, and accessories for making the gun were recovered from there.
The police of Ahmedabad police station in Katihar have registered an FIR in this regard and started an investigation. Naru Karmakar is currently absconding. The police have intensified their search operation.
