The DA Case has been filed for the third time. The case was heard in the Supreme Court on Monday. Due to the pressure of other cases, the hearing of the DA case was delayed. April 11 has been fixed as the date of the hearing. On this day, the hearing was scheduled in the bench of Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice Sanjay Kumar, but it will be heard next month.
Four months ago, a special leave petition was filed in the Supreme Court demanding dearness allowance at the central rate. The petition was filed by the West Bengal State Government Employees Association. The case was supposed to be heard in January, but it was postponed in the Supreme Court.
It was then learned that the application filed by the state in the case was rejected due to defects. At that time March 15 was fixed as the next date of the hearing. That hearing did not happen.
At that time it was said that there is pressure in other cases. After that, it was decided that the hearing will be held on March 21.Today, March 21, the hearing of the case is again postponed.
Meanwhile, the government employees have been protesting in Dharmatala for 52 days on the demand of DA. Fasting is going on for 40 days and their wait got longer.
A litigant said, “The court case is a part. We are not agitating for a court case. We have two more demands. Recruitment should be done transparently and irregular employees should be regularized. The movement will continue until the demands are met. This movement will spread across the country. The court will continue, and our fight will also continue."
In the words of another protester, "We were hopeful about the court's verdict but we also have more demands. And this movement will continue. An organization filed a court case. But now we have 60 organizations coming together to save energy. That is where this joint platform comes from.”
