East Calcutta Wetland Management gets Rs 66 cr for Ganga

All out efforts are being made to free Ganga water from coliform bacteria, environment minister Manas Bhuṭiya. For this awareness along with government initiative is necessary, he said. Government, government officials, scientists, pollution control board all have to make this effort together, he said.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Manas Bhuiyan said that East Calcutta Wetland Management has received a project worth Rs 66 crore, and Bala Murugan is in charge of it. But there is a problem with land in this project. However, the land reform department will solve the problem quickly and start working together with the municipality and the panchayat.

Environment Department has taken initiative to bring green cracker or almost pollution free bet. Maheshtala has already been a workshop with bet makers. The government wants to change the traditional market so that the business of green crackers can be increased. For this, the Environment Department and the Pollution Control Board are seeking help in coordination with the Fire Department.
