Trinamool Congress (TMC) leadership has decided not to replace jailed Anubrata Mandal as the Birbhum district president, following a special meeting on the organization of the district ahead of the panchayat elections.
During the meeting, which was attended by top TMC leaders including Abhishek Banerjee and Mamata Banerjee, it was proposed that the Birbhum core committee meet every week, a suggestion that was supported by the party chief.
The core committee will now consist of nine members, with Pandveshwar MLA Naren Chakraborty joining as a new face. Additionally, each of the regional presidents spoke about their respective areas during the meeting.
