Death count rises to 288 in Odisha train tragedy, 803 remain injured
At least four people were killed in a massive explosion at a house in the middle of farms in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr on Friday. A police team has reached the spot and rescue operations are underway.
“On Friday, a large explosion took place in a house in the middle of farms in Bulandshahr UP, killing four people. The explosion is said to have taken place in a war,” police said, adding that further investigations were underway.
Local residents are helping the police with rescue operations. Police have found four bodies so far. The victims were identified as Abhishek (20), Raees (40), Aahad (05) and Vinod. The victims rented the house where the explosion took place.
In the afternoon, a call was received regarding a cylinder blast in a house built in the middle of fields at Nayagaon in Kotwali Nagar area, SSP Shlok Kumar said.
He also said that some pressure cylinders have been recovered and police, district administration, fire brigade and CMO teams are involved in rescue and rescue operations. A forensics unit was even called in to gather evidence to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh said some bottles and drums were also found at the spot and all aspects are being investigated to ascertain the cause of the blast.
