Centre approves CISF recruitment amendment, allowing 10% ex-Agniveer reservation for constable/rifleman posts
3-year age relaxation for Agniveers, 5-year relaxation for first batch of Agnipath scheme candidates
The SSB, BBSF, ITBP and the CISF have been notified about the exemption from the physical efficiency test
The Centre has approved the amendment of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Wing’s Group ‘B’ and ‘C’ posts recruitment and allowed ten per cent reservation for ex-Agniveers for the recruitment in the post of constable or rifleman.
“Government has approved the creation of a new category of 10% reservation for ex-Agniveers in recruitment to post of Constable (General Duty)/Rifleman in Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles.3 years relaxation in prescribed upper age limit. Further age relaxation of 5 years beyond the prescribed upper age limit will be given to the candidates of the first batch of the Agnipath scheme,” Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai informed the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
The government also announced a three-year relaxation in the prescribed upper age limit for the Agniveers. The first batch of candidates of the Agnipath scheme will be getting a further five years of age relaxation on the given upper age limit.
The Services Selection Board (SSB), Border Security Force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) have been notified about the exemption from the physical efficiency test and other necessary amendments by incorporating the provisions for ex-Agniveers in the recruitment rules of constables in these departments, Rai informed.
