Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
In a major breakthrough, the Bihar police have arrested an international gangster who was wanted in both India and Nepal in several criminal cases.
Acting on a tip-off that gangster Zahid Ali alias Zahid Rain, a resident of Birendra Bazar police station in Nepal, had reached Bihar's Madhubani and was planning to commit a robbery with his accomplices, a police team rushed to the city and nabbed him. The police also seized two pistols, 23 cartridges, a motorcycle, and a mobile phone from him.
"During the investigation, it came to light that Zahid not only had several cases registered against him in Nepal but also in Madhubani," Bihar Additional Director General of Police JS Gangwar told reporters on Friday. He added that around a dozen cases of loot and malice are registered against Zahid at various police stations in Madhubani.
They described him as a big catch and the ADG said that they had caught the gangster from another country, which could indeed be called a big success.
