A disturbing incident took place in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district where a retired sub-inspector of the Dalit Pradeshik Armed Constabulary (PAC) was brutally killed by a shovel-wielding man.
The incident took place on May 18 in Sikhera village under the jurisdiction of Sikhera police station. The victim, identified as Garibdas, was engaged in a conversation with a pesticide store clerk when he was attacked by the assailant, Zarif Ansari, according to local reports.
Zarif Ansari, a resident of the same village, approached Garibdas and repeatedly hit him on the head and neck with a shovel. The attack lasted only 17 seconds, during which Garibdas suffered nine severe wounds, which resulted in him being covered in blood and collapsing to the ground.
The entire horrifying incident was captured by a CCTV camera located outside the store. After the attack, Ansari fled the scene and went straight to the police station, where he confessed to the crime and surrendered the weapon.
