Death count rises to 288 in Odisha train tragedy, 803 remain injured
A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel identified as Jay Singho committed suicide on Saturday evening by hanging himself from a railing in his rented house under Jorapokhar police station about 11 km from the district headquarters.
Jorapokhar Police Station Officer Binod Oraon told the media that the CISF personnel were found hanging in his bathroom around 6.30 pm on Saturday. He was immediately rushed to Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) Jealgora Hospital where the doctor declared him brought dead.
Jay Singho (29), a resident of Manipur, West Bengal, was posted to the BCCL. He lived in a rented house behind Jorapokhar Police Station with his wife.
His wife Sushmita Singho said she went to sleep after lunch. In the evening she found him hanging in the bathroom.
The couple got married a year ago. Sushmita Singho said he was in heavy debt despite looking normal. He showed no signs of depression that could lead him to commit suicide.
After getting the information, CISF Assistant Commandant Bhupendra Singh also reached Jay Singh's house and gave a detailed report about the incident.
