Manoj Sashidhar, a 1994 batch IPS officer of Gujarat cadre, has also been appointed as additional director in the CBI for a period of three years
Senior IPS officer Ajay Bhatnagar has been appointed as the Special Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), according to an order issued by the Ministry of Personnel.
Bhatnagar, a 1989-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Jharkhand cadre, is currently the Additional Director of the Federal Investigation Agency. He was appointed to the position until his retirement date of November 20, 2024.
Anurag, a joint director in the CBI, will now be the next director in the agency. He was appointed until July 24, 2023, the end of his seven-year term, the order said.
Manoj Sashidhar, a 1994 batch IPS officer of Gujarat cadre, has also been appointed as additional director in the CBI for a period of three years. He is currently the joint director of the investigative agency.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved extension of the tenure of deputation of Sharad Agarwal, Joint Director, CBI by one year beyond May 31, 2023, i.e. from June 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024 (total eight years) as part of relaxation of IPS tenure policy, the order said.
