Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav took a dig at the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Central government, expressing confidence that the BJP would be "wiped out" in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Lalu Prasad Yadav, a former Chief Minister of Bihar, believes that a coalition of parties united in promoting the philosophy of Baba Saheb Ambedkar will lead to the BJP's elimination.

Lalu mentioned that the INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) alliance, comprising 26 rival political parties, including the Congress, aims to defeat the BJP and stop it from obtaining a third consecutive term in power at the federal level in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The INDIA alliance held its first meeting on June 23 in Patna, Bihar, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. A second meeting followed, called and hosted by the Congress on July 17 and 18 in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Lalu Prasad Yadav was invited to a one-day conference of the RJD student wing held at the home of his son, Tej Partap Yadav, who is a minister in Bihar. During the conference, Lalu accused the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of attempting to undermine the Constitution and urged the participants to defend the country.

In the context of future plans, the INDIA alliance is scheduled to meet again in Maharashtra to strategize and frame their course of action.
