BJP woman leader accuses Lekhpal of corruption and exploitation in Basti, UP

In a shocking incident from Basti district, Uttar Pradesh, serious allegations of corruption and exploitation have come to light as a woman leader of the BJP lodged a complaint against a local Lekhpal.

The accused Lekhpal reportedly demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 to resolve a land dispute in her favor. Adding to the distress, when the woman mentioned her financial constraints, the Lekhpal allegedly made an objectionable proposal.

The victim, who holds a significant position in the BJP's SCST Morcha, narrated her ordeal to her husband and jointly approached the SDM Haraiya to lodge a written complaint against the accused Lekhpal. Acting promptly, the SDM has set up an inquiry committee to investigate the matter thoroughly. The committee has been directed to submit its report within two days, after which appropriate action will be taken based on its findings.

According to the victim, the dispute revolves around the land situated in front of her residence, which is currently under her possession. However, her neighbors have expressed interest in claiming the property, leading her to seek assistance from Lekhpal Rampreet Maurya.
