A second patient has gone missing, raising concerns about the safety and security measures at healthcare facilities in Howrah. This incident follows the recent mysterious disappearance of a patient from the women's ward of Howrah District Hospital. The latest case involves a 76-year-old woman named Shakuntala Verma, a resident of Panchkadi Mohanty Lane in the Malipanchghara police station area.
Shakuntala Verma had been admitted to Jaiswal Hospital due to age-related ailments, seeking medical attention and care. The family discovered that she had gone missing during the late hours of Sunday, September 17, around 12:30 AM. Concerned and desperate for answers, the family promptly reported her disappearance to the local authorities by filing a missing diary at the Malipanchgarh police station in Howrah.
However, till Tuesday afternoon no trace of the missing patient had been found.
