In an official statement, Prime Minister Modi expressed deep concern over the "terrorist incidents, violence, and loss of civilian lives" occurring in the West Asia region. He reaffirmed India's consistent position on the Israel-Palestine issue. President Raisi shared his own assessment of the situation during the conversation.
The two leaders also took the opportunity to review and positively assess the progress made in their multifaceted bilateral cooperation. Both leaders welcomed the focus and priority placed on the Chabahar port in Iran, recognizing its significance in enhancing regional connectivity.
Prime Minister Modi's discussion with President Raisi follows his recent conversations with other world leaders, including Israel, Jordan, Egypt, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to address the evolving situation in the West Asia region.
