**Tragedy Strikes Bihar's Lakhisarai After Chhath Puja: Two Brothers Killed, Four Injured in Firing Incident**
A family returning from Chhath Puja in Bihar's Lakhisarai district faced a horrifying incident, with two brothers losing their lives and four others sustaining injuries in a targeted firing incident on Monday morning.
The assailant, identified as Ashish Chaudhary, a local resident near the victims' house, opened fire on the family. Preliminary investigations suggest that the motive behind the attack was Ashish's desire to marry the girl from the victim's family, a proposal the family rejected.
The tragic incident unfolded in Punjabi Mohalla, falling under the Kabaiya police station jurisdiction in Lakhisarai. The injured victims are currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
Police provided insights into the case, revealing that Ashish Chaudhary had a prior relationship with the girl in question and sought to marry her. However, the family opposed the union, leading to the unfortunate shooting.
The opposition BJP swiftly responded, criticizing the Bihar government for the incident, labeling it as indicative of "lawlessness" and invoking the term "Jungle Raj" to describe the prevailing situation in the state.
"Bihar me Jungle Raj not Nitish Raj In Lakhisarai , 6 people shot at - 2 killed ! No fear of the law is left after RJD has joined hands with Nitish because now mafia/criminals think it’s “hamari sarkar” ! Even cops are not safe leave alone common man!" said BJP Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla.
