In a bid to clear the remnants of Durga Puja and Kali Puja celebrations, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has issued a stern ultimatum to various puja mandaps across the city. Despite many days passing since the festivities concluded, numerous puja mandaps are still standing, adorned with banners, prompting KMC to take action.

The civic body has given a 48-hour deadline to puja organizers to dismantle the structures; failing to comply may result in KMC officials forcibly removing the mandaps and confiscating the bamboo structures.
