Kolkata Airport makes history by welcoming first Giant Airbus Beluga XL
In a significant announcement during the ongoing Bengal Global Business Summit, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declared former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly as the brand ambassador of West Bengal.
However, the announcement did not go without political commentary. BJP MP Dilip Ghosh took a jibe at the Chief Minister, suggesting that it took many years for the state government to recognize Sourav Ganguly's contributions. Ghosh questioned the delay in acknowledging Ganguly's achievements and compared it to the recognition given by the Tripura government, which had already appointed Ganguly as a brand ambassador.
Ghosh's remarks included a subtle dig at Mamata Banerjee, implying that self-made individuals often face underappreciation while those associated with others are more readily recognized. He also speculated about the potential decline in the market for actor Shahrukh Khan, humorously suggesting that Banerjee is turning to Ganguly as a new symbol.
