Following the suspension of 78 Members of Parliament (MPs) from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Union Minister Piyush Goyal has responded, accusing the MPs of embarrassing the country within the "temple of democracy."
Goyal stated that the suspended MPs insulted the Speaker and the House, creating an ugly ruckus during the proceedings. The suspension, which includes 33 MPs from Lok Sabha and 45 from Rajya Sabha, was imposed due to charges of obstructing the House's proceedings, particularly in Rajya Sabha. The government contends that these actions constitute an attack on democracy.
