The BJP, countering the RLD's move, emphasizes its support for Bharat Ratna but questions the timing of the demand. The statue unveiling and the public holiday announcement on Charan Singh's birth anniversary aim to strengthen BJP's ties with the Jat community, which holds significance in western UP.
