A youth identified as Mohammed Talha, hailing from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand's Seraikela, has been arrested by the UP Police over a social media post on X where he threatened a repeat of the 2019 Pulwama terror attack. Deoband Police took action after receiving information about the objectionable comments on Twitter, registering a case against Talha under stringent sections.
The Senior Superintendent of Police in Saharanpur, Vipin Tada, disclosed that the accused confessed to the post being driven by anger. Authorities have initiated a thorough investigation to understand the motive behind the threatening post, with forensic analysis being conducted on Talha's seized mobile phone.
Earlier, on Wednesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a high-level meeting to take stock of the situation in the wake of the terror attack. "I want to assure you that, as far as the government is concerned, the government stands by you and we give equal priority to your welfare and your convenience. We try to take steps based on whatever information is given to us," the Raksha Mantri said.
