Roopa Ganguly arrested during protest of student's death in Bansdroni, gets bail
In an incident in Jharkhand's Palamu district, a 32-year-old woman was raped by two drivers associated with senior police officials. The accused, identified as Dharmendra Kumar and Prakash Kumar, drivers for Palamu Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan and Palamu Superintendent of Police Reeshma Ramesan, respectively, were arrested. The victim and the accused were sent to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital for a medical examination.
According to the Superintendent of Police, the incident occurred in the morning when the woman, seeking treatment in Medininagar, encountered the two drivers at a mobile recharge shop near Daltonganj railway station. Allegedly, the drivers gained the woman's trust and took her to a room adjacent to the railway station, where the assault occurred. The victim filed a complaint at the town police station, leading to the arrest of the accused within two hours. Legal actions are underway against the criminals, as confirmed by the SP and Deputy Commissioner.
