Ferry ghat owner suspected of poisoning 10 monkeys with pesticide-laced bananas
The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, the second leg of Congress's nationwide campaign, commenced on Sunday from Khongjom in Manipur, led by Rahul Gandhi. The yatra, covering 6,700 km and traversing 15 states, aims to address social, economic, and political injustices across the country. Rahul Gandhi, in his address, expressed concern over the divisive politics in Manipur, blaming the BJP and RSS for spreading hatred and ideology. He pledged that the Congress would work towards restoring harmony and peace in the troubled state.
Gandhi emphasized the significance of 'nyay' (justice) in the yatra, aiming to listen to the problems faced by people and share a vision of brotherhood. The event kickstarted the Congress's campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and was attended by key leaders, including party president Mallikarjun Kharge. Despite initial controversies over the yatra's starting venue, it began with floral tributes at the Khongjom War Memorial and a rally, where Gandhi addressed a large gathering, denouncing the divisive politics in Manipur.
