French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Jaipur on Thursday ahead of the Republic Day celebrations where he is the chief guest. He was welcomed by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. Macron is set to participate in a roadshow called the Shobha Yatra with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, covering a kilometer from Jantar Mantar to Hawa Mahal in the Pink City.
Later in the evening, Modi and Macron will have dinner at Jaipur's Taj Rambagh Palace, where they are expected to discuss bilateral and global issues. Macron's visit marks a reciprocal gesture, as Prime Minister Modi visited France on its National Day on July 13-14 last year.
