Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
In a dramatic turn of events in Jharkhand, former Chief Minister Hemant Soren asserted during the ongoing assembly session that Raj Bhavan was implicated in his recent arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding an alleged land scam.
The Champai Soren-led government, recently formed in Jharkhand, is set to face a crucial floor test today in the 81-member assembly. Hemant Soren, addressing the assembly, vehemently denied the land scam charges against him and boldly declared, "If proved, I will quit politics."
Soren, who was arrested on January 31 in connection with an 8.5-acre land scam, challenged the authorities to present evidence of the land registered in his name. He further expressed resilience, stating, "We have not yet accepted defeat. If they think they can succeed by putting me behind bars, this is Jharkhand where many people have laid down their lives."
In a scathing critique, Soren labeled his arrest as a "dark chapter in India's democracy" as he addressed the assembly following a PMLA Court's permission to participate in the trust vote for the Champai Soren-headed government, despite strong objections from the Enforcement Directorate.Main aansu nahi bahaunga, aansu waqt ke liye rakhuga, aap logo ke liye aansu ka koi matlab nahi..," Hemant Soren said today in Jharkhand Assembly.
