A 25-year-old man allegedly killed his grandmother, parents and sister at their residence in southwest Delhi's Palam following an argument on Tuesday night, a police officer said. The defendant was arrested. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West) Manoj C said a person reported a noise in his neighborhood around 10.30 pm.

"When the police arrived at the scene, they found that the door of the family's house was locked from the inside...[the door] was broken... four people were found dead and the accused was trying to escape. He was overpowered and caught," he said.

The investigator identified the accused as Keshav, who allegedly killed his grandmother Diwano Devi (75), parents Dinesh and Darshan and sister Urvashi with a sharp weapon. Citing preliminary investigations, investigators said Keshav had an argument with his family on Tuesday over lack of permanent employment. They added that Keshav was allegedly addicted to drugs and had lost his job. His family repeatedly told him to mend his ways.
