Ever since the Central Government disclosed the names of Bharat Ratna recipients one after another, the opposition has launched a barrage of criticism, alleging political maneuvering in the selection process. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut raised concerns, suggesting that the prestigious award is being bestowed with political benefits in mind.
Snajay Raut said ''Bharat Ratna is being given considering its political benefits. There is a law that only three people can be given Bharat Ratna in a year, five people are being given it. All this is being done for political gains... Chaudhary Charan Singh is being honored with Bharat Ratna because he(BJP) wants Jayant Chaudhary to join his party''.
Let us tell you that after announcing the award of Bharat Ratna to veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani and former Bihar Chief Minister Karpuri Thakur, the Government of India has announced three more names. Last Friday, it was announced to give Bharat Ratna to three people. Out of which the names of two former Prime Ministers Chaudhary Charan Singh and PV Narasimha Rao and the father of India's Green Revolution MS Swaminathan are included.
