BJP defeats AAP in Delhi, ends 27-year reign: Key reasons behind AAP's defeat
Amidst chaotic scenes in the West Bengal Assembly, six Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), including Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari, have been suspended for the remainder of the ongoing session due to "unruly and disorderly behavior."
The BJP leaders were suspended after a heated debate over the Sandeshkhali issue, which culminated in a significant uproar within the Assembly chambers. Notably, six BJP MLAs, including Shubhendu Adhikari, were observed sitting on the floor inside the House during the commotion.
In response to the tumultuous scenes, the Assembly took decisive action, suspending Subhendu Adhikari, Shankar Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Bankim Ghosh, Mihir Goswami, and Taapsee Mandal from participating in the ongoing session. The suspension will be effective until February 17, marking a substantial disciplinary measure against the concerned legislators.
